Advantages Of Using Article Marketing
To Build Inbound Links To Your Website

There are several advantages to getting inbound links developed through the article marketing process.
  • Article Marketing Links Are More Permanent. When you rent a link on a third-party website, that link is given for as long as you are willing to keep paying for that link. When one gets a link placed with an article, that link will remain in place for as long as the webmaster wants to continue sharing the information in the article, with his or her website's visitors.

Links placed with articles tend to have lives as lengthy as the life of the website. It has been our observation that 80% of websites who carry our articles will be in business two years from now. It has also been our observation that if the article placement, with its accompanying one-way inbound links, remains on a third-party website for at least two years, it will likely remain on that third-party website for five years or seven years. (We do not yet know how long an article can last since we ourselves have only used this method of promotion for just over seven years.)

  • Larger Range Of Placement. Articles distributed for reprint end up being published on a wide range of websites, on different topics, and located around the world. My own articles have been translated into at least ten languages and placed on websites with a multitude of country extensions. Articles written by myself and my clients have been published on some of the largest and most well-known company websites on the Internet.

  • All Active Links Give Value. The best value gained from links on third-party websites are those that contain target keywords in the anchor text of the link. Although those keyworded links are of a higher value, non-keyworded anchor text links still hold some value in the search engine algorithms.

  • Will Gain PageRank Over Time. By the nature of links created through article marketing, all articles and their accompanying links will begin life on a new page with a zero PageRank. Over time, many of those same links will gain PageRank value. We have seen links created through article marketing appear on pages that climb to as high as PR6.

  • Links Generally Appear On Websites People Visit. There are two kinds of links on the Internet: those on pages only seen by search engines, and those seen by search engines AND on pages actually seen by human beings who can choose to follow those links.

  • People Actually Follow Posted Links. In a perfect article, the human reader of the article will reach the end of the article and want to know more about the author of that article. When the human sees the author's personal biography, if the bio is written well, the human reader will desire to follow the link to the author's website.

  • Links Appear On Pages With Relatively Few Links. Generally, the links accompanying an article placement appear on the web page, with only the websites own links competing for attention with the advertising links that were delivered with the article.

  • Targeted And Relevent Links. If the article writer has done his job well, then the links in the resource box are already targeted to the context of the article itself. This ensures that the links sent with the article will already be on pages that are tightly focused and extremely relevent to the keywords that the destination website wants the search engines to give them credit for having.

  • You Can Target 1-3 Links In Your Author's Bio. Some websites limit the number of links an author can place in his or her personal biography. Three is generally the absolute maximum number of links that can be applied to an article in the author's personal bio.

  • You Can Target Deep Links On Your Website. While some sites will limit the total number of links to one, with each article, it is advantageous to include deep links to deep pages on your website when you have the opportunity to do so.

It is important to use a particular URL only one time in your author's bio. The search engines will look at the anchor text that accompanies only the first display of a link to a particular URL.

As you continue through each of the pages on this website, you will see dozens of articles about how to get the most mileage from your article marketing endeavors and your linking structures for the purpose of maximizing your search engine marketing campaigns.

Check back often as we do plan on expanding on this library of article marketing and search marketing information.

You will find links to all of the articles on this site at the bottom of every page in the pudding directory. It is as they say, "The Proof Is In The Pudding."

It is our hope that you will find our website interesting and useful to you in your growth as an Internet marketing professional.
